Panoramania!

I'm pretty sure the above word is a total fabrication but it sounds cool, right? anyways, I love shooting landscape photography, and one of the fun aspects of that is creating a good panoramic photograph.  Some of these have been seen, some have not.  I was looking over them the other day and I wanted to share some of my favorites.

Surfing and hiking

Still getting outside to do the things I enjoy, even with temperatures in the 30s and 20s.  Also thrown in are a couple photos from a local East Village bar.

North Carolina (Part 2)

Another set of photos I took from my recent trip to North Carolina, these are images I feel represent the area my father lives.  It's a more rural area, where simple people live for simple things, and the harsh economic environment of recent years can be seen.  Yet there is something of a calm, almost peaceful aura about the area. people here are content to be with their family and do what makes them happy.  They take pride in little things, and help remind me that I should do the same.

The last one has sentimental meaning to it.  This is the house that my grandmother has lived in for the past 50 years.  This trip was to relocate her to my father's house.  I've been seeing this image my entire life, so I decided to capture it the last time I'd see it.

North Carolina (Part 1)

These photos are from a trip I took to visit family in North Carolina at the beginning of December.  Quick weekend trip, but it was good to visit and see the family, and get some climbing in as well. This set is all B&W photos from the boulders near my house.

More Central Park wanderings

Spent last Saturday strolling around the park and doing some bouldering.  The other climber in these photos is Itai, and he was on a vacation from Israel.  It was his first experience climbing outdoors, and to be doing it in Central Park made it that much more surreal.  After a nice little session on the rock, I haphazardly wandered around for a few hours, just enjoying the day and taking photos of some things that I felt captured the essence of Central Park in the fall on a nice Saturday.

Morning session in NJ

I'm having to take what I can get, surf-wise, here up north.  Winter is really starting to set in.  Since I am working a lot and I don't live on the beach anymore, I have to take what sessions I can get to.  Here's some photos from a recent excursion to an area in New Jersey where we scored some reeling, glassy lefts with just two of us out for almost three hours.

Wanderings - Central Park

Trying out a 'new' 50mm lens I got - pretty excited about working with it.  This was just aimlessly wandering around the park on a sunny afternoon
